A brief history in time – the story of Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi was first invented and released in 1997 and has evolved from its first known form; a set of standards which define communication for wireless local area networks aka WLANs. Thereafter, a higher-level specification for Wi-Fi was created which saw two MB of data transfer wirelessly between two devices – the conception of wireless connectivity!
Since then, it has continued to evolve and permeate our everyday lives with its simple to use and easy to install interface. Wi-Fi has now given birth to the next stage of interconnectedness; The Internet of Things or commonly known as IoT.
A staggering amount of electrical consumer devices that exchange information at a mind-boggling rate has allowed for industries to leverage both the increasing number of Wi-Fi enabled devices that are now available and the consumer data that’s fed into these devices. Keeping unconnected communities connected
